Skipton is a Dales market town, and as such serves both tourists and local alike as a shopping centre. There is of course Skipton Market, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Famous for it outdoor shopping, Skipton Market brings visitors from far and wide. And of course there's Craven Court, the Victorian style shopping arcade, praised by Prince Charles for it's architecture. Craven Court Come inside, and visit Skipton's Victorian Themed Shopping arcade, Craven Court Beautiful painted ironwork and the clear glass roof make this covered shopping arcade quite unique, and well worth a visit if you're in the Skipton area. Harrogate Elegant cosmopolitan Harrogate has a great mixture of wonderful shopping. The bustling town centre from West Park, James Street and the Montpellier Quarter to the Westminster Arcade and Victoria Shopping Centre has designer shops, familiar names and arts & crafts. Ripon Browse the charming streets with their stunning Medieval and Georgian buildings. Walk around the large market place surrounded by fascinating shops and arcades and wander down Kirkgate towards the cathedral. Just on Ripon's doorstep is Lightwater Valley Country Shopping Village. Yorkshire Dales Traditional shops on the High Street and workshops on Kings Street in Pateley Bridge; Main Street in Ripley, Market Place and surrounding area in Masham. Knaresborough Knaresborough has the perfect blend of traditional shops, cosy places to eat and fascinating places to discover. Around the Market Square and the High Street you'll find plenty of great little shops and galleries including the oldest chemist shop in England (1720) and if you visit on a Wednesday you can browse the colourful market. |
